Salena: Thank you so much, Mai, for taking the time to chat with me today, I really appreciate it. I guess the purpose of today’s call, is really just to get an insight into your experience working with me and with Phoenix. Could you start by giving me a little bit of an overview who you are and what sort of work you do?

Mai: I worked in IT Consulting Company, called Accenture, I’m a managing director, primarily, running big IT projects for government clients.

Salena: Fantastic, and tell me a little bit about the intensity of your work, do you have a lot of spare time?

Mai: I do not have much spare time, I work more than 12 hrs. per day normally and on the weekends sometimes after work as well, so extremely time poor.

Salena: And obviously, you came to me as a referral through an accountant, what was that actually prompted you to take that action to get some support?

Mai: My accountant was doing my tax review, and he realized that I’m paying a lot of tax, I do not have much investments. have a very healthy cash reserved and I explained having me investing because I just simply don’t have the time to look where to invest and he suggested a professional that can help me, and redirected me to you.

Salena: Fantastic. So, we obviously played a little bit of phone tag and email tag, what prompted you to take action and start working with me?

Mai: I really want to invest, I have been thinking about it for a long time, so I think it’s really timing. I really wanted to invest but I put it off, and I explained to my accountant that I don’t want to go to the bank, where some guy studied finance for a year going to coach me how to invest, so he explained your background already, so I have thought that fits perfect, so I think it’s a combination of timing and that recommendation of someone saying that this, not someone who studied about finance, and she’s been doing this for few years, so why not go and see her. So that’s happened.

Salena: Terrific. Tell me, can you just describe what the process that we have worked through together and some of the journey that you had with me.

Mai: We had a coffee, the first interaction we had was coffee near my work, I really like the fact that you came to me, because I’m extremely time poor. I think that speed things up a little bit, because if I have to go to you, that could take months. So, there we sat there, you went through the process with me, which was very clear. You were able to answer some of the questions I had, I think that’s important, because I have very specific questions, and if you gave me a fluffy answer and didn’t really answer the question, I probably wouldn’t have trusted you. So immediately I had a good connection with you, I feel like, you thought about the question, and you didn’t give me a marketing line, therefore I was ready to go. Very quickly we went from that to a retiring plan which you put together, and I was always aware of there could be a fee associated with, so that was very transparent. So we went through that, you gave me options, I got the cash, I want to invest, so I think that’s how we got started.

Salena: Fantastic. How would you, if you were going to recommend to someone that can consider getting a support, an advice, what sort of people would be a good fit for that?

Mai: I think people who are similar to me, there are a lot of working professionals, who’s got some cash, I wouldn’t say a lot, because the property price these days are just crazy, a lot of people worry about their retirement plan, they have a good income, and some cash but they are just time poor, they don’t know how to start investing and these people are quite smart, they’re working professionals, they have the same concern, they don’t want to just rock up to some company with someone who studied a degree, and tries to advise them on how to invest, So I think targeting white collared professionals service, people who got some cash and want to settle and think about retirement, I think that’s a good category of people.

Salena: Well, thank you really appreciate Mai , you are one of my favorite clients, we’re on our third project together now, and I think you have made really good income, gains in terms of wealth in those projects, I really look forward to continuing to help you manage and build your portfolio in the coming years.
