The Best Religion For Property Investors

Hi everyone, Salena Kulkarni here from Phoenix Wealth Group and in today’s short video, I want to talk to you about a specific filter that I think is really important for property investors to be cultivating and that is the one of being investment agnostic. So being investment agnostic means that you let go of preconceived ideas of things you’ve heard, of conversations that you may have had with other people, of education you’ve had in the past that kind of sways your opinion about the merits of a particular investment. At the end of the day the purpose of property investing, or any investing for that matter is that you want to be able to make money.

Now, how much money and over what period of time is a separate conversation, but when you’re looking at different investments and you’re hearing conversations about this investment is better than that investment, or I’ve done this particular style of investing before and it’s worked, those other ones don’t work. You really have to be careful. Me personally, I like to think of myself as an investment agnostic in the sense that I try to let go of biases when I’m assessing a new opportunity. Now if someone over here who is passionate about buy and hold, or passionate about buying two bedroom units in the eastern suburbs, I say, “Yep that’s something I will consider” but at the same time, that filter doesn’t prevent me from blocking out ideas that might otherwise be great given the current economic environment. Especially because we do have a level of uncertainty that we haven’t had before, it’s especially important to try and let go of those biases and open your mind to strategies and tactics which maybe you haven’t tried before.

Certainly what I can see over the next sort of three to five years is, the more investment agnostic you are, the more focus you have on, “How can I make money in this climate?” And certainly you might be doing things that maybe you haven’t tried before, you’re massively increasing your probability of success in a market where most other property investors are gonna be stagnant or going backward. So I hope you found that useful, if anything in this video resonates or you want to chat further, please get in touch, either message me on LinkedIn or Facebook or comment below. Thank you.
